In a message shared during the Angelus, the Pope thanks medical staff and the public for their support amid ongoing treatment.
Pope Francis has been hospitalized for ten days at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome, which has prevented him from leading the traditional Sunday Angelus.
However, he has provided a written message that was released by the Vatican.
In this message, he conveyed feelings of optimism and expressed gratitude to the medical staff and all those praying for his well-being.
The Pope stated, "I remain confident during my hospitalization at Policlinico Gemelli, continuing necessary treatments; rest is also part of the therapy! I wholeheartedly thank the doctors and healthcare workers of this hospital for the attention and dedication with which they serve the sick," he said.
The Pope highlighted the impact of the many messages of affection he has received, particularly noting letters and drawings from children.
"Thank you for this closeness and for the comforting prayers I have received from around the world! I entrust everyone to the intercession of Mary and ask you to pray for me," he added.
In his address,
Pope Francis also made a poignant reference to global conflict, commemorating the third anniversary of the large-scale war against Ukraine, which he called a "painful and shameful anniversary for all humanity." He reiterated his solidarity with the suffering Ukrainian people and urged prayers for the victims of all armed conflicts.
Additionally, he called for peace in regions such as Palestine, Israel, the Middle East, Myanmar, Kivu, and Sudan.
