I-HOUR Event Concludes Second Edition Focused on Legal Innovation and International Affairs

The I-LAW annual initiative brings together experts to discuss pressing legal and economic issues.
The second edition of I-HOUR, an annual event organized by the law firm I-LAW, known for its expertise in legal, regulatory, and fiscal matters related to credit recovery in the banking and financial sectors, has successfully concluded.

This initiative aims to create a platform for discussion and in-depth exploration of legal and current topics, culminating in a networking aperitif designed to encourage informal dialogue among professionals.

This year's edition consisted of two distinct segments, providing participants with a broad and stimulating perspective on both national and international issues.

The first part featured an exclusive interview with Simone Crolla, Chief Executive Officer of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy, who provided an update on international relations between the United States, Europe, and Italy.

Crolla analyzed recent U.S. economic policy initiatives and their impact on transatlantic relations.

Following the interview, a roundtable discussion entitled "Negotiated Composition of the Crisis and MCC Guarantee: Rules for a Virtuous 'Coexistence'" took place.

This timely topic for the legal and business community engaged sector experts, including Lorenzo Marcello Del Majno, Associate at I-LAW; Pierpaolo Bruzzoni, Head of Guarantee Instruments and Incentives at MCC SpA; and Sergio Rossetti, magistrate of the Milan Court.

The debate examined the operational provisions of Mediocredito Centrale, allowing for a detailed discussion regarding the deliberative process in response to restructuring proposals developed within the context of the negotiated composition of the crisis (CNC).

The discussion was enriched by an analysis of the challenges that arise when, during the CNC process, an entrepreneur requests the court to grant precautionary measures that inhibit the enforcement of MCC guarantees by banks.

Davide Sarina, Managing Partner of I-LAW, commented on this year’s event, stating that the aim was to foster interaction among various players involved in managing banking exposures backed by MCC guarantees, emphasizing the importance of properly framing the issue to facilitate a positive outcome in the Negotiated Composition process.

Lorenzo Marcello Del Majno, head of the Corporate & Special Situations Team, noted that a virtuous coexistence between MCC guarantees and CNC is achievable when the financial maneuver proposals made by advisors take into account MCC's operational provisions and the orientations of the individual courts.

I-LAW, established in 2018 and led by partners Davide Sarina, Giulia Galati, Stefano Menghini, and Antonio Schiavone, focuses on credit management, particularly in the deteriorated sector, assisting banks and enterprises in developing precise credit management strategies.

Over the years, I-LAW has developed an innovative operating model that combines quality and efficiency, supported by a strong technological and digital orientation in the legal services provided to banks, credit institutions, and institutional investors.
