Paolo Ceretti Appointed New President of Gedi Editorial Group

Ceretti takes over from Maurizio Scanavino, who steps down to focus on commitments with Juventus.
Paolo Ceretti has been appointed as the new president of the Gedi Editorial Group, succeeding Maurizio Scanavino, who is leaving the company to concentrate on his responsibilities with Juventus.

The decision was made by the board of directors of Gedi, which controls well-known publications including _La Stampa_ and _La Repubblica_.

Ceretti comes to Gedi from the De Agostini group, where he is expected to leverage his extensive managerial experience, particularly in the media sector.

The company emphasized the productive cooperation with Scanavino and acknowledged his significant contributions to Gedi, particularly in transitioning the group to a digital and innovative media company.

In his statement, Ceretti expressed enthusiasm about his appointment and commitment to supporting Gedi and its management, asserting his intent to maximize the group's potential in a challenging yet opportunity-rich environment.

Scanavino reflected on his years of service, expressing gratitude towards colleagues and the board for their support and friendship, characterizing his time at Gedi as an honor and privilege.

Scanavino entered the publishing industry in 2007 as director of digital and marketing for the publisher of _La Stampa_.

He subsequently led the efforts that resulted in the formation of the Gedi Group, one of Europe’s major publishing entities, eventually becoming its president in October 2024 after stepping down as CEO to Gabriele Comuzzo.

The board has also appointed Michela Nava as a board member, taking over from the outgoing member, Umberto Tribuzio.

Paolo Ceretti holds a degree in Economics and Commerce and began his career with the Fiat Group, where he held increasing roles in Internal Auditing and Finance, as well as in financial services planning, credit, and control.

He later became the director of strategic planning and development at IFIL (now Exor).

After assuming responsibility for the digital startup Ciaoweb in 1999, he went on to serve as CEO of Global Value, a joint venture in Information Technology between Fiat and IBM.

Since 2004, he has been the General Director of De Agostini, holding positions as CEO of De Agostini Editore and DeA Capital.

Michela Nava serves as Managing Director at Lingotto Investment Management.

Since 2022, she has held the position of Chief of Staff at Exor, supporting the CEO and the group's strategy.

Nava is also part of several boards of companies in Exor's portfolio, including Lifenet and Vento.

She previously spent eight years at Goldman Sachs in the Private Equity investment team in London and New York from 2014 to 2022.
