Giorgia Meloni, Javier Milei, Rupert Murdoch, and Conor McGregor were among those present at Donald Trump's second inauguration, although prominent European leaders and certain far-right individuals were not in attendance.
An eclectic mix of international personalities attended
Donald Trump’s second inauguration, featuring political leaders, business moguls, and celebrities.
Prominent attendees included Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Argentina's President Javier Milei, both associated with right-wing populism.
Meloni, a close Trump ally, was seen conversing with media tycoon Rupert Murdoch during the event.
Milei, commended by Trump for his aggressive deregulation approach, also participated in the proceedings.
Other right-wing figures present were French far-right politician Éric Zemmour, noted for his contentious views on immigration, and British politician
Nigel Farage, who attended a gala without an official invitation to the swearing-in.
Former UK Prime Ministers
Boris Johnson and Liz Truss were in Washington for the occasion, though not at the Capitol rotunda.
A few official international delegates were present, including China’s Vice President Han Zheng, Japan’s Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya, and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
Several notable business personalities, including Bernard Arnault, founder of LVMH, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, attended the event.
Conor McGregor, a mixed martial arts fighter and Trump supporter, was also present, reinforcing the connection between Trump’s campaign and the combat sports world.
Noticeably absent were major European Union leaders, such as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and top diplomat Kaja Kallas.
Other far-right European figures, including Brazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro, were unable to participate, as Bolsonaro’s request for a passport to travel to the US was denied by Brazil’s Supreme Court.
