Vento Venture Building Launches Fourth Edition to Foster Entrepreneurship

With Exor's backing, 40 aspiring entrepreneurs out of 800+ applicants embark on a transformative journey in Turin.
This week marks the commencement of the fourth edition of Vento Venture Building, an ambitious initiative aimed at nurturing future entrepreneurs.

Supported by Exor, one of Europe's prominent investment firms, Vento has carefully selected 40 participants from over 800 applications, a testament to the program's growing appeal since its inception, which has seen a total of 2400 applications.

The program, spanning five months, is designed to equip participants with the necessary tools to launch their startups.

Thanks to scholarships provided by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, these entrepreneurs can wholly dedicate themselves to their business projects.

The curriculum includes comprehensive training modules, mentoring sessions from industry experts, and networking opportunities with investors.

Past versions of the program have boasted notable contributors like Arthur Mensh of Mistral AI, Stéphane Bancel of Moderna, and Matilde Giglio of Even, highlighting its stature and beneficial ecosystem.

Operating in a full-time, immersive setting within OGR Torino, the program offers an active and engaging environment for participants.

This hands-on approach facilitates both experiential learning and collaborative teamwork, enabling participants to forge strong, competitive teams.

Midway through the program, after the problem exploration and ideation phases, teams can access a pre-seed investment fund of €80,000.

This capital infusion is crucial for propelling their startup acceleration and development ambitions.

The journey concludes on June 19, by which time participants are expected to be equipped with the knowledge and resources necessary to embark on growing their enterprises.

The Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo plays a pivotal role in the regional innovation landscape, envisioning Turin as a global innovation hub.

By integrating a diverse array of stakeholders—startups, investors, corporations, governmental bodies, universities, incubators, and accelerators—the Foundation champions entrepreneurial ventures addressing significant social, environmental, and technological challenges.

Utilizing patient capital, innovative grant-making tools, and multidisciplinary expertise, the Foundation supports entrepreneurial projects from the proof-of-concept stage to scale-up, thus maximizing their success potential.

In 2024, over 200 startups will have benefited from this holistic support, contributing to societal well-being and job creation.

The Vento Venture Building program is an integral component of the Foundation's strategy.

Through long-term investments, the program not only delivers positive community impacts but also strengthens a cohesive, sustainable, and inclusive innovation ecosystem.

This aligns with the European Union’s sustainable development goals while maintaining connections with local and international innovation networks.
